Delete from inside the app

  • Sign in, open Settings, and use “Delete my account and data”.
  • You confirm by typing the email address you sign in with.
  • Deletion happens immediately. It cannot be undone and there is no recovery period.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in record and your profile.
  • Your membership of every organisation.
  • Your cookie preferences and your usage allowance counters.
  • Any organisation you founded, together with its threads, submitted posts and discussions, analyses, analysed comments, human decisions, evidence approvals, reply variants, persistent-activity actions and research records.

What is kept, and why

Your account and the data scheduled for deletion are removed. Certain records may be retained where required for security, legal, financial or audit purposes, as explained in the Privacy Notice.

  • Organisations founded by another person are not deleted. Only your membership is removed, so a different customer's records are never destroyed by one person leaving.
  • Support, privacy-request and email-delivery records are kept for as long as we need them to evidence how a request was handled, and are then removed. They are limited to the case reference, the address contacted and the outcome.
  • Your beta access record, including the reason for any access decision, is kept as a security and access-control record.
  • The record of which policy version you accepted, and when, is kept as evidence of that acceptance. It holds no name or email address.
  • Any contribution or payment records are kept, because financial records must be retained for a period set by law.
  • Backups held by our hosting provider expire on that provider's own cycle.

Retention periods for the records listed above have not yet been fixed. This wording is provisional and is awaiting owner and legal approval; it describes current system behaviour and is not a statement of legal compliance.

If you cannot sign in

Email privacy@publicvoiceshield.com from the address on the account, or submit a data protection request. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder before anything is deleted, and confirm in writing when it is done.

Mobile application

The Android application uses the same account, the same deletion route and the same records as the website. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account — use Settings, or the email route above.
